A Brief History of Ribe Kunstmuseum

Ribe Kunstmuseum is one of the oldest in Denmark and has been exhibiting works by Danish artists since 1891.

The Collection

Ribe Kunstmuseum houses a collection of Danish art from 1750 to 1950. The exclusive range includes a number of highlights.

The Museum’s Architecture

The building dates from 1864 and is a work of art in itself. The red brick and bright sandstone bands, together with the sweeping volute gables, are features of the style known as the Rosenborg style.

The Museum Garden

The Museum Garden is a green refuge in the heart of Ribe. The garden is open to the public from about 9.00 am to sunset.
